We have already talked about SIWES Application Here, when and how to apply and will still bring the highlights here in due time. But our main focus today is on what you need in Preparing for companies internship exams
Most companies conduct Exams for SIWES. Even though, after this exams sometimes, they still select only a few by merit but it’s worth giving a trial. There are companies which solely depend on merit for their selection. It is important u get used to this exams and know the structure of their questions very well
Industrial training exams are similar for many companies, more especially that of oil companies.
It normally consists of
About the company
For Nigeria Liquefied Natural gas (NLNG)

For Weatherford Oil servicing

For Total E&P Nigeria Limited
Their questions have 3 parts
20 English questions, 20 Maths and 20 Current affairs
I stand to be corrected by other experienced people here to
When it comes to chevron, Exxon Mobil and Schlumberger. Believe you me, their questions are the “grandfather” type of questions. I wrote them, hence I know what it is like.
There’s need for staunch preparation before you seat for the test, else you will just be on the first four questions and your time will elapse. You will just be like, is it not one minute ago that we just started without knowing that 17mins has been used up by you.
Hence how should you prepare?
What should you expect?
Knowing what to expect in an exam is the first step towards conquering and coming out in flying colours. This is because it makes your preparation a vector quantity, in the sense that you prepare with direction, and not just magnitude.
Their structures are thus:
Exxon Mobil and Chevron
This duo follows the same pattern because there are conducted by one body – DRAGNET. As a matter of fact, questions in chevron test were massively repeated in Exxon Mobil test during my time.
The test structure
There are three sessions :
Each session contains 20 question and is to be completely answered in 17mins (less than a minute per question). Hence, you should be as fast as you can. Anyone you don’t know, leave it/thick anything and jump to the next question.
Note: The test is computerised and the best study material is GMAT
Their questions is very easy but don’t get your hope too high, that you’ve conquered, you might end up injuring yourself 😂. #Experience.
The test structure
It comprises of two sessions :
Each session contains about 25-30 questions and the test duration is 50minutes.
Note: The test is conducted via pen and paper style and for the abstract reasoning, elementary GMAT abstract reasoning questions is the best study material.
